본 프로젝트는 라이브 드로잉 퍼포먼스를 기반으로 캠퍼스 공간에 예술적 개입을 시도하며, 일상의 교육 환경을 보다 생동감 있고 창의적인 예술 공간으로 전환하고자 기획되었다.

재학생과 현업에서 활동 중인 계원예술대학교 출신 작가들이 함께 참여하는 비교과형 프로젝트로 운영되었다. 열린 캠퍼스 공간에서 진행된 라이브 퍼포먼스와 드로잉 작업은 대학 구성원과 지역 시민, 예비 입학자들에게 예술대학만의 현장성과 분위기를 직접 체험할 수 있는 기회를 제공하였다.

프로젝트의 전 과정은 기록 및 촬영되어 미디어와 SNS 콘텐츠로 확장되었으며, 실제로 캠퍼스가 더욱 예술대학다운 공간으로 변화했다는 긍정적인 반응과 높은 참여 호응을 이끌어냈다.

본 프로젝트는 일회성 행사에 그치지 않고, 앞으로도 캠퍼스 곳곳에 예술적 터치를 지속적으로 더해가며 계원예술대학교만의 창의적 캠퍼스 환경을 구축해 나가는 실험적 플랫폼으로 이어질 예정이다.

This project was conceived as an artistic intervention into campus spaces through live drawing performances, transforming everyday educational environments into more vibrant and creative artistic settings.

The program was operated as an extracurricular project involving both current students and professional artists who graduated from Kaywon University of Art & Design.

The live performances and drawing sessions, held throughout the open campus environment, provided university members, local residents, and prospective students with opportunities to directly experience the atmosphere and immediacy unique to an art university.

The entire process was documented through photography and video, later expanding into media and social media content. The project received strong engagement and positive responses, demonstrating how the campus could be transformed into a more vibrant and artistic environment.

Rather than remaining a one-time event, the project continues as an experimental platform that adds artistic touches throughout the campus and develops Kaywon University of Art & Design’s unique creative campus environment.

‘숲’은 수많은 생명과 물질, 시간의 층위가 겹겹이 쌓여 형성된 살아있는 기록입니다. 지난 전시는 숲을 관찰하고, 기록하고, 재구성하는 과정을 통해 예술적·교육적 탐구가 어떻게 교차하고 확장될 수 있는지를 심도 있게 조명했습니다. 외부 작가와 교수, 학생이 공동으로 참여하여 숲을 바라보는 각자의 독자적인 시선을 공유했으며, 전시는 관찰 – 기록 – 기억 – 창작으로 이어지는 흐름을 통해 자연을 해석하는 다각적인 방법을 탐구했습니다. <숲을 보는 법>은 단순한 결과물의 나열을 넘어, 전시 기간 내내 축적된 사유의 과정 그 자체였습니다. 본 기록을 통해 관람객이 숲이라는 대상을 향해 던졌던 “무엇을 볼 수 있는가”라는 질문이 우리 곁의 자연을 새롭게 해석하는 지속적인 영감이 되기를 바랍니다.

The forest is a living archive, formed through the layered accumulation of countless forms of life, materials, and the passage of time. The previous exhibition explored in depth how artistic and educational inquiry can intersect and expand through the processes of observing, documenting, and reconstructing the forest. Bringing together invited artists, faculty members, and students, the exhibition presented each participant’s unique perspective on the forest. Through the progression of Observation – Documentation – Memory – Creation, it investigated multiple ways of interpreting nature. How to See the Forest was more than a presentation of finished works; it embodied the very process of thought and reflection that accumulated throughout the exhibition. We hope that this record will encourage visitors to revisit the question, “What can we see in the forest?”, inspiring new ways of understanding the natural world around us.

‘자연관찰자의 집’은 이동형 4평 오두막 갤러리를 기반으로, 자연을 관찰하고 기록하며 창작하는 과정을 공유했던 프로젝트이다. 2025년 평택시농업생태원에서 첫 전시를 개최한 이후, KUMA 미술관의 캠퍼스미술관 프로젝트와 연계하여 계원예술대학교 캠퍼스로 이동 설치되었으며, 학생·교수·지역주민이 함께 참여하는 오픈갤러리 형태의 전시공간으로 기획되었다.

‘흙으로 돌아가는 집’을 주제로 진행된 이번 전시는 자연을 바라보는 다양한 시선과 기록, 드로잉, 오브제 제작 등의 창작 활동을 통해 관찰과 사유의 시간을 제안하였다. 또한 캠퍼스 내 일상 공간 속에서 창작과 전시가 자연스럽게 이루어질 수 있도록 구성하여, 학생들이 자유롭게 참여하고 자신의 시선과 작업을 축적·공유하는 실험적 예술 플랫폼으로 운영되었다.

House of the Nature Observer was a project based on a mobile four-pyeong cabin gallery that explored and shared the process of observing, recording, and creating through nature.

Following its first exhibition at the Pyeongtaek Agricultural Eco Center in 2025, the project was relocated to the campus of Kaywon University of Art & Design in connection with the KUMA Campus Museum Project. It was conceived as an open gallery platform where students, faculty members, and local residents could freely participate and engage with the space.

Under the theme Returning to the Soil, the exhibition proposed a time for observation and contemplation through drawing, recording, and object-making inspired by nature.
